The
Brahmins residents of the village have been ardent devotees of the Dhakshinamnaya Sringeri Mutt and Sarada Peetham. The Pontiffs of the mutt have visited the village whenever they travel near this area.

Broad outline of different groups of people who were eminent in the village is proposed to be studied. Possibility of errors and omissions are large. We are subject to correction wherever possible. This is
compiled based on the information collected from various sources, which cannot be revealed for obvious reasons. While
dwelling in the subject, the prevalent caste division in the society cannot be ignored. Moreover it is easy to identify people in fragmented groups as the response from the
affiliates is expected to help fulfilling the task to a large extent.
The village society consisted of
Brahmins, Saiva Pillamar, Asaiva Pillamar, Thevar, Naickers, Asaris and mostly of Harijans
(Pallar). Although the majority of population always remained to be Pallars, Brahmins & Pillamar owned major paddy fields and hence had control over the village administration, activities etc. People belonging to both communities have migrated to other areas in search of employment and business. The Pallar community being the tillers stayed back in the village and are in majority and controls the administration and activities of the village at present. They have also invested in paddy fields and have become owners. Historical details about this majority community is very difficult to collect since most of them remained uneducated and proper records are not available. While some details could be collected due to their connection to
Adheenams, due to their educational background and positions held in Govt and other organisations, details about the
Brahmin community is in plenty, because of the records available.
Two sects namely Vadamas and Brihatcharanam were
the two sects prevalent in the village. The Vadamas were contained in two Gothrams and Brihatcharanam people in two more Gothrams. The Vamsavali
charts (The family tree) of all vadamas and one gothram of other sect are available
and are posted separately.
List of prominent personalities as available are also given. Most of them belong to two or three generations ahead and a few are concurrent.
